The purpose of our policy

Our policy describes how we at The Tasteful Cake Company collect and process any personal data obtained via our website www.thetastefulcakecompany.co.uk or from face-to-face meetings/discussions. It’s really important that you read this policy, alongside any other Privacy Policy or Notice that we may add on different occasions, where we are collecting or processing personal data via these means. The terms of this policy may be edited at different times, however you will be made aware of any major updates. This policy was created in 2019.

This address is the legal entity which is the Data controller collecting and processing the information, which is provided by users via our website or face-to-face consultations or discussions You can contact us for your data protection queries via lyntastefulcake@gmail.com

The Data collected

The personal information that we ask you to provide, where the law allows us to, includes: Names, Email addresses, Telephone numbers. The only reason we collect this information, where the law allows is solely to keep in touch with with regards to your designs, cakes or ongoing queries and to improve our services.

Contact from The Tasteful Cake Company

Following our initial consultation, there maybe times that I need to email you with regards to your order. You can not opt out of these emails as they are essential to our agreement and key to the process for me to complete your beautiful cake. If I enter any award ceremonies, I may also send you an email with regards to this. It would only be 1 email for each award, asking for your support should you wish to give it. Should you wish to opt out of Newsletters and general TTCC updates, you are of course within your rights to do so.

Disclosure of personal information

I will never sell your personal data to any other party – that would be wrong! There may be occasions where I have to liaise with your other wedding or event vendors with regards to your order/event, for example Florists. However, I will always ask your permission to do so. This could include your name, telephone number or email address in order to distinguish between different clients. These companies are also bound by data protection laws however I can-not be held responsible for how they secure or process your information.

Protection of your personal data & Data storage

We take the security of your personal data very seriously. We use encryption (HTTPS/SSL) to protect data transmitted to and from our website. Unfortunately, however, no data over the internet is 100% secure as we all know, so I can-not be held responsible for the security beyond this. The contact forms and information provided here are used at your own risk. Each client of TTCC has an electronic file and a paper file. Electronic files are secured with Windows Defender Security Centre, security system and scans are run frequently to ensure there are no breaches within our system. Our paper files are held in a locked cabinet and are used during the actual baking/making of the orders to ensure we are following your specific requests always. I also receive queries and personal information for our clients via Social Media (Facebook/Instagram). These are both business accounts and are protected via password protected access only.

Both electronic and paper files are deleted after they are no longer required, which is on completion of your commission. Your contact details however are kept for the purpose of potential future orders, to ensure I recognise you as past clients and for potential future emails with regards to any awards we may enter as mentioned above. Should you wish for your details not to be held for such reasons, please advise us via lyntastefulcake@gmail.com and you will be removed from the system.

I reserve the right to take images of cake creations and use these for marketing and promotional purposes.

Payment information

Electronic payments are taken via Bank Transfer . Your bank details are not stored by TTCC Bank Transfers – These are sent to our business account with Barclays Bank and I am only shown your name and reference you gave at the time of transfer I will only ever request your bank account details for payment purposes and should a deposit refund need to be paid back for the hire of items from TTCC, or for any refunds required. These are deleted after the payment has been received by yourself.

Cookies

We do use cookies and similar technologies such as pixels and local storage to identify you when you return to our site. I use them in various ways, for example, speeding up your experience, remember your preferences, evaluate email effectiveness, show relevant adverts (Facebook sponsored ads via retargeting), and personalise your information. Some third-party services that we use, such as Google Analytics, may place their own cookies in your browser. This Privacy Policy covers only cookies by The Tasteful Cake Company and not the use of third parties.

Change of purpose

I will only use your personal information for the reasons stated above, which are necessary to complete our work for you. At present there is no change of purpose for the use of your information.

By continuing to use and stay in contact with TTCC on or after December 2019 you are acknowledging this policy and agreeing to its terms.
